| Regular Minatures gaming night |
| Hi guys, I'm pleased to announce that a few gamers and I are attempting to create a gaming day on the first Saturday of every month (except January currently). Hours: 12pm to 11:30pm Location: Army Navy Air Force Veterans Legion on 43rd and Fraser (5896 Fraser St) Cost: $10 (possibility of price change depending on regular attendance numbers, will be assessed in the new year) Dates: Sept 6 Oct 4 Nov 1 Dec 6 NO JAN DATE AS TOO CLOSE TO NEW YRS <-- flexible here, if enough interest. Feb 7 The 11:30pm end would be FIRM for miniatures games on 4x6 tables as we'd need to pack tables up and store them back into the designated storage space. All game systems would be allowed, but all terrain currently providable would be fantasy and flames of war oriented. The venue cost is fixed, but due to fluxuating numbers expected from month to month the fees will remain fixed to try to maintain that no one should be out of pocket for this venture, for the beginning months me and a few 'investors' will be making up any shortfalls in the gate, with expectation to be reimbursed for these shortfalls if things start to pickup. Any extra funds will be placed into an accumulaton fund, that will be used in a yet to be determined fasion, but rest assured this will not be a for-profit venture. Possibilities for uses of the accumulation fund are terrain purchases/upgrades, free gaming sessions with BBQs, food/drink raffles, etc. In January, if it's seeming that we get enough consistent attendance that the accumulation fund is growing too rapidly or is constantly in the black we'll assess whether this is a venture worth continuing or wether it can afford to have it's cost reduced on a per person basis. Really this will be a gamers day, by gamers for gamers. I hope that many of you can make it out to game nights. | So you wanna be a club? Here's what the WCP can do for you! |
| The WCP has always been a group of gamers striving to better the gaming community as a whole within the lower mainland and further!
At our last meeting it was discussed how we can go about enabling other clubs to do the same, and this is what was come up with. Any group that wants a private section to discuss events planning can PM Veskit and get a section setup, in an event that their sections become very active, more private sections can be asked for. These clubs will be deemed as "alliance clubs" in that they are all clubs looking to better the gaming community. Also each club can elect a club liaison, of which will have access to a club chat forum of which WCP event organizers and other club event organizers will be available and have posts about what to look for in planning an event, and about how far in advance these things should be looked for. Lastly the WCP will offer to help as much as they can in events planned by your other club, and hope that alliance clubs will do likewise. Please consider this is AS MUCH AS we can. We won't be able to help out with all events, in fact some of us are too busy with our own events to help out with ANY. We encourage you post up saying you need help, and hopefully someone in some of the alliance clubs will be able to help out. This also includes being able to use our supplies for your events, provided that we get reasonable assurances that our terrain is going to be returned promptly in the same condition it was in when it is picked up. We want to stress that we will not be governing or having any kind of power over any of these clubs, this is done solely on the kindness of the club to help facilitate other clubs ability to run events that can be on par (or surpass) ours. If you have any questions or want to discuss the move please post here! |
