| BottosCon: A Mere Matter of Gaming, Nov 7-9, 2008 |
| BottosCon: A Mere Matter of Gaming Nov. 7-9th, 2008 Compass Points Inn, 9850 King George Highway, Surrey BC, Canada The North Shore Wargaming Society is proud to host BottosCon 2008, our annual war gaming convention for all war gamers in the Greater Vancouver area. This event saw its genesis in the many Game Days and Weekends hosted by various members of our club. With the prodding of our American friends to the south, one of whom said something to the effect of “Why don’t you damm Canadians host your own event and leave us alone”, a gaming convention was born. This year's convention has re-located to the Compass Points Inn, in Surrey, BC, where we can offer a larger and more diverse gaming area than last year's venue. The hotel has ample parking, is right on the Sky Train line, and is easily accessible to our friends from south of the border. We're pleased to be joined by George Kelln of Lone Canuck Publishing and his ASL West Coast Rumble. Making it's BottosCon debut is this year's Standard Combat Series Marathon hosted by Mark Woloshen of Prairie Aflame fame. Our focus will be on gaming, not structure, so think GMT West or Homercon, but with a Canadian flair. This is an opportunity to play some great games, and make some new friends. If you enjoy historically based strategy games this event is for you. We are a group of mature Board Wargamers who are dedicated to our hobby. We would like to show people what we do and to encourage others to participate fully in the hobby. We play Board games from various companies and all time periods from Ancients to Modern. The North Shore Wargaming Society is a group of gamers who do not have any political affiliations, do not believe in any discrimination, and only want to enjoy playing historical based war games. Please go here for more info and to ask questions! Rob Bottos BottosCon Actual |
